Ellie gave me the waist I know I have under all this "padding." And high heels?!? I've not worn heels since my wedding day in 1995. Seriously.

Daisy Charlotte Miles was born 11/20/07. She is a golden retriever. She smells like puppy. She's soft and sweet, snores in her sleep, and is nearly potty trained. We love her. Tucker is getting used to her. She needs to be a bit quicker on the draw, because he's not giving her an inch.
I thought she was pure golden retriever. After seeing this I'm not so sure.

I've gotten a little flack for "replacing" Lucy and how she must not have meant all that much. We love Lucy and we always will. My heart breaks all over again when I see the place where we buried her. We did what we think is right for our family.
One for you - every one of you - for your kind and loving words. I can't begin to tell you how you touched me.
And one for 2 little girls with broken hearts. Katie said last night, "I still love and miss Lucy, but Daisy is helping me feel better." Me too, at least a little bit. She has big paws to fill. 
She ran on the road and was hit. I can't believe it. She was just a baby (8 months old). Oh, Lucy...

It's been about 4 hours and I'm still in tears. I'm so thankful for my online friends. I feel like my heart is broken. She was such a naughty thing, but I really did love her. So very much. Every night she went to bed with us, crawled under the covers, and slept up against me. Occasionally her snoring woke me. Ellie handled it well (so far) but Katie will be devastated. And remember Tucker, our old pupper with cancer? He's still with us (thank goodness) and he's sad, too. Brett laid Lucy in the barn and Tucker ran up to her with his tail wagging wanting to play. I know Tucker is sad, too. The poor ol' guy didn't eat his lunch.
I know they are dogs and not people. But they have personalities, too. They know when we're happy and when we're sad. They make us laugh and sometimes swear (*blush*). They live as part of the family and we love them. And miss them when they're gone.
Oh, you girls know how to make me feel better!
Kira - I not only wish I could machine quilt, I wish I could piece a quilt! I have no patience...none.
Siew - Embroidery is easy. You should give it a try. And spinning? Is fascinating! I hope you try it.
Mindy - Knitting makes me itch LOL Really. I am so uncoordinated. I just don't think I have enough brain capacity to learn to knit. Let me know if you decided to jump into it.
Alice - You, my dear friend, rock at everything you do. If I lived there or you lived here I would hire you to be my personal crochet teacher.
LucyKate - Is it bad that I get pleasure knowing you gave up on knitting? You make the most beautiful softies. Make more. Forget knitting! LOL
Rayna - I love working with clay, though it's been years. Oh, that does sound like fun!!

I have not a crafty thing to report on today. The most exciting thing that happened here was that a grain truck went into the ditch just north of our house. The driver wasn't watching where he was going and in he went. Our road has the tiniest shoulders ever. He spilled a load of hog feed and took out part of our fence. 
Quite a pickle, huh?
Lucy could hardly stand it. She watched and watched. Look how her nose is smashed against the glass!
Mother Nature and I have something in common these days. Neither of us knows exactly what we want. This was yesterday.
Ellie is up to her ankles in melting snow. The temperature was 50 degrees and we had water running through our usually dry creek. A lot of running water. Today it's 27 degrees and everything is frozen solid.
I've been working on this embroidery for several months. It's not that it took that long. More like I had no idea what I would do with it when done. 
It's done, but I still don't know what I will do with it. I don't really like it all that much.
I feel a bit bored with my "usual" crafts. I'd love to learn to crochet, but... If you could learn another craft what would it be?
