Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers and good thoughts for Gabe. Thank you so much for taking time to think about him. It means so much. Here is the latest on Gabe (from last night):
Gabers had a good night & was pretty happy so far today. He asked for waffles & chocolate milk this AM for breakfast...now that's the Gabers I remember! He is supposed to be getting a PICC line sometime this eve to start him on Heparin (blood thinner similar to Enoxaparin) & then they'll switch him to Coumadin before we go home. They'll have to drawblood a lot after he starts on Coumadin to make sure his levels are where they're supposed to be. No therapy today but I'm hoping we'll meet with someone tomorrow. We saw all the cardiologists this morning & those who weren't here this weekend were bummed to have us back, but everyone said that Gabe is such a fighter, he'll recover from this too in time.
Gabe's cousin was diagnosed with Type I diabetes yesterday and is in the same hospital. It's a trying time for the family right now. Gabe's mom has the best attitude of anyone I know. Her thoughts on all of this with Gabe and now her nephew is that it's amazing how God works and allowed them to be together to lean on each other during this time. I will update you on Gabe if anything changes.
The past few days have been really good mail days for me.
I've got to stop looking around ebay though. Must. Stop. But look at what I bought! It's a toss up between the Japanese softies book on the left and the owl pattern in the middle as to which is my favorite. The softies should be (fingers crossed) easier. The flying squirrel in it is the cutest thing ever!! The ISBN is 4-14-187866-9 for anyone interested. It's been around for a while.
You know what's really unique about bloggers? People like Jessica. Her name was drawn in one of my give aways for the felt cosmetics set. And she sent me a thank you!! How cool is that?!? Thank you, Jessica, for the adorable paper bag album. The colors are so summery and we love orange around here!
And you want to know one of the most fun things about bloggers? That people like Kritty like my stuff enough that they want to do swaps with me!! Kritty makes amazing silver charms. I love it, Kritty!!
Kritty, my package to you is going out this week. I promise. Same goes for you, too, Michelle and Stephanie. Speaking of Stephanie, if you buy one of her gorgeous bags or clutches it gets Stephanie, her husband, and their daughter, Sammi, one step closer to this. You can also find Stephanie here. She's a busy girl!
One more thing and then I'll shut up. Several people wondered if we figured out how the bat got in the house. Brett remembered that when our niece left that night she didn't shut the door. The bat probably swooped right in the door, which leads straight down to the basement. I'm sure the cats then chased it upstairs, since SOMEBODY (Brett!!) left the door from the kitchen to the basement open all night. Hopefully it's the last bat we see in the house.
