Nine years ago today, after a 46-hour failed induction, Kaitlin Annabelle was born via emergency C-section. She was the first grandchild for my parents. My dad hugged me as they were leaving at the end of the day and whispered into my ear, "Thank you. She's very special."
She had very dark blue eyes and a head full of black hair. She weighed 9 pounds 8 ounces.
We were a family of 3 with a big red dog.
She didn't sleep through the night and was colicy. But she was so
stinkin' cute. She never lost all that hair. She looked like she had a
bad comb over with short hair in the back and very long hair in the
front. She had her first hair
cut at home when she was about 6 months old.
My dark-haired baby now is a light-haired 9-year-old. Everyone says she looks like me. She is sensitive, loves horses and stuffed animals, and wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up. She made me a mom and I think she's the best kid ever.
